- 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 Egg (beaten)
- 1 Onion (finely diced)
- 2 tsp Salt
- 1 tsp Black pepper
- 3 tbsp Butter
- 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
- 2 cups Beef broth
- 1 cup Heavy cream
- 1 Onion (sliced)
- 1 tsp Garlic powder
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and black pepper until just mixed. Form into 6 to 8 oval patties.
- Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat and brown each patty for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until translucent. Whisk in flour for about 2 minutes.
- Gradually add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
- Nestle browned patties into the gravy mixture. Cover and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
