  • 2 lbs Ground beef (80/20 blend)
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Egg (beaten)
  • 1 Onion (finely diced)
  • 2 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 3 tbsp Butter
  • 3 tbsp All-purpose flour
  • 2 cups Beef broth
  • 1 cup Heavy cream
  • 1 Onion (sliced)
  • 1 tsp Garlic powder

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, beaten egg, diced onion, salt, and black pepper until just mixed. Form into 6 to 8 oval patties.
  2. Heat a cast iron skillet over medium heat and brown each patty for about 3–4 minutes per side until golden. Set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onions until translucent. Whisk in flour for about 2 minutes.
  4. Gradually add beef broth and heavy cream, stirring until smooth.
  5. Nestle browned patties into the gravy mixture. Cover and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for 45 minutes; uncover and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  6. Let rest for about 10 minutes before serving.
