Not only is it easy to prepare, but it also offers a healthy balance of lean protein and nutritious vegetables, making it a satisfying meal for the entire family. Serve it over rice or noodles for a complete dinner that is both affordable and delicious.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound flank steak
  • 34 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 4 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (divided)

Instructions

  1. Slice the flank steak thinly against the grain and set aside. In a bowl, whisk together soy sauce, water, vinegar, brown sugar, ginger, garlic, and red pepper flakes until smooth.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 4–5 minutes until tender-crisp; remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add more olive oil and sear beef slices in a single layer for about one minute on each side until browned but slightly rare.
  4. Return the broccoli to the skillet with the beef, pour in the prepared sauce, and stir everything together until well coated. Cook for an additional 1–3 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  5. Serve immediately over rice or noodles.
