- 1 head cabbage
- 1 can (15 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 can (10.25 ounces) condensed tomato soup
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon ground black pepper
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 cup cooked long-grain white rice
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 2 teaspoons garlic, minced
- 1 large egg
- Chopped parsley for garnish
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 9×13-inch baking dish with cooking spray.
- Boil water in a large pot; add whole head of cabbage and cook for about 5 minutes. Remove and let cool before peeling off individual leaves.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef, cooked rice, diced onion, minced garlic, paprika, oregano, salt, pepper, and crushed red pepper. Add the egg and mix well.
- Take a cabbage leaf; place about two tablespoons of filling at its base. Fold in the sides and roll tightly. Place seam-side down in the baking dish.
- Pour tomato sauce over the rolls. Cover with foil and bake for about an hour; remove foil during the last 15 minutes.
- Garnish with chopped parsley before serving hot.
