Ingredients
- 12 oz chow mein egg noodles
- 1/2 small yellow onion
- 5 stalks green onions
- 2 cups bean sprouts
- 3 tablespoons corn oil
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- 2 tablespoons dark soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon regular soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon water
Instructions
- Soak chow mein noodles in boiling water for 30 seconds to 1 minute until softened. Drain and set aside.
- In a bowl, mix dark soy sauce, regular soy sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, and water until dissolved.
- Heat 1 tablespoon corn oil in a wok over medium-high heat. Sauté sliced onion and white parts of green onions for 1 minute; set aside.
- In the same wok, heat another tablespoon of corn oil and pan-fry the noodles for about 4 minutes until crispy, flipping halfway through.
- Add sautéed onions, bean sprouts, both green parts of green onions, and prepared sauce to the noodles. Mix gently for another minute.
- Remove from heat, drizzle with sesame oil, toss to combine, and serve immediately.
