Ingredients

  • 4 lbs beef shoulder
  • 1/2 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup lime juice
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ground cumin
  • 1 tbsp dried oregano
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 2 bay leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Trim excess fat from the beef shoulder and cut it into large chunks.
  2. In your slow cooker, combine beef chunks with orange juice, lime juice, garlic, onion, cumin, oregano, chili powder, bay leaves, salt, and pepper.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4–5 hours until tender.
  4. Remove beef and shred it using two forks.
  5. For added texture, broil shredded beef on a baking sheet for 5–8 minutes until crispy.
  6. Serve with your favorite toppings in tacos or bowls.
