Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup warm water
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 lb ground beef (or ground chicken/tofu)
  • 1 cup finely chopped cabbage
  • ½ cup finely chopped green onions
  • 2 tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • ½ tsp ground black pepper
  • ¼ cup soy sauce (for dipping)
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar (for dipping)
  • 1 tsp sesame oil (for dipping)
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional, for dipping)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine flour and salt. Gradually add warm water until a shaggy dough forms. Knead for about 5–7 minutes until smooth. Cover and let rest for 30 minutes.
  2. For the filling, mix together ground beef (or alternative), cabbage, green onions, ginger, garlic, soy sauce, sesame oil, sugar, and black pepper in another bowl until well combined.
  3. Roll out the dough into small circles and place about 1 tsp of the filling in each one. Fold over and seal with pleats.
  4. Cook by boiling in water until they float (5–7 minutes), pan-frying with water and covering until cooked through (about 8 minutes), or steaming for approximately 10 minutes.
