Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 small head of cabbage (cut into thick slices)
  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef or turkey
  • 1 small onion (finely chopped)
  • 2 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • ½ cup shredded cheese (optional)
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 egg (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Slice the cabbage into thick rounds (about ½-inch thick) and brush both sides with olive oil; place on the baking sheet.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine ground beef or turkey, chopped onion, minced garlic, salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and egg if using; mix until well combined.
  4. Press a handful of the meat mixture onto each cabbage slice to form patties.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes, then sprinkle cheese on top of each patty.
  6. Broil for an additional 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and golden.
  7. Garnish as desired and serve warm.
