Ingredients

  • Beef Tenderloin (cut into 1-inch cubes)
  • 1 1/2 cups Cornstarch
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper
  • 1 cup Vegetable Oil
  • ¾ cup Chili Sauce
  • ¾ cup Chicken Stock
  • ½ cup Sugar
  • ½ cup White Vinegar
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • ¼ teaspoon Red Chili Flakes
  • 1 Tablespoon Cornstarch
  • 1 Tablespoon Water
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds for topping (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cut beef into 1-inch cubes and coat with cornstarch, salt, and pepper in a mixing bowl.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Fry the coated beef until golden brown on all sides; drain on paper towels.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix chili sauce, chicken stock, sugar, white vinegar, garlic, and red chili flakes.
  5. Pour the sauce over fried beef and simmer for 10 minutes on low heat.
  6. Thicken the sauce by mixing cornstarch with water; add to pan while stirring until smooth.
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles.
