Ingredients
- 1 1/4 – 1 1/2 lb beef tenderloin, trimmed
- 1 1/2 teaspoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon cumin
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 2/3 cup BBQ sauce
- 2 teaspoons Dijon mustard
Instructions
- In a Ziploc bag, combine smoked paprika, brown sugar, cumin, chili powder, kosher salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper.
- Pat the beef tenderloin dry and rub the spice mixture all over it. Seal the bag and refrigerate for at least 2 hours or overnight.
- Mix honey, BBQ sauce, and Dijon mustard in a bowl to create the basting sauce.
- Preheat your grill to 425-450°F with half of the burners lit for indirect heat.
- Place the seasoned tenderloin on the lit side of the grill and cook for about 5-6 minutes per side.
- Move to the cooler side of the grill and baste every few minutes until reaching an internal temperature of 145°F.
- Remove from heat and let rest under foil for about 10-15 minutes before slicing.
