  • 1 ½ lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • ¼ cup avocado oil
  • Salt and pepper
  • Optional: 1 large yellow onion, sliced; 8 slices American cheese

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients and slice onions if using.
  2. Preheat the Blackstone griddle over medium-high heat and add avocado oil.
  3. Divide ground beef into four portions, rolling each into a loose ball.
  4. Place each ball on the griddle and smash down with a spatula to form thin patties. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Cook undisturbed for about 3 minutes until browned. Add onions around patties if desired.
  6. If using cheese, add a slice to each patty one minute before removing from the heat.
  7. Assemble burgers by spreading mayonnaise on buns, adding sauce and toppings as desired.
